Julie Buckner Armstrong is an internationally known expert in civil rights literature. Her most recent books include the Cambridge Companion to American Civil Rights Literature and Mary Turner and the Memory of Lynching. Dr. Armstrong is Professor of Literary Studies in the Department of English at the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg campus, where she teaches American, African American, and Women’s literatures.
